3 students expelled for hate crime

San Jose State University in California has expelled three students for bullying their black roommate. They did many things to him like putting bike locks around his neck and calling him derogatory names. Also a fourth student was put on probation for the rest of his college careers. The four students pleaded not guilty misdemeanor battery and hate crime charges. The student they did this too has sued the University for 5 million dollars. The 3 students who are all white will not be able to enroll at California schools to finish college. One of the lawyers for one of the expelled students has said the university did not make a thorough review and acted to quickly before gathering all the facts. A task force was also setup and determined they waited to long to take in action in this case though.
